ANA appeals for entry limitations in national airports

geral

ANA Aeroportos de Portugal is appealing to people not to go to national airports unless they are actually travelling.

Aware of the need to avoid large crowds of people in airports, given the emergency situation the country is going through, ANA is working with the PSP police in order to create a system to restrict access and that can be implemented rapidly.

Inside the airports, passengers will be asked to comply scrupulously and responsibly with the social distancing recommended for the prevention of infection, following safe circuits in order to ensure compliance with the guidelines of the Directorate General for Health, with the support of the PSP whenever necessary.

It has also been decided to close the lounges in all the airports.

These are part of a set of measures that are being implemented to ensure the safety of all those passing through national airports, and include:

• Reinforcement of the cleaning plan in common areas and all circulation and waiting areas (seats, handrails, surfaces, etc);
• Reinforcement of hand sanitiser dispensers and the suitability of the cleaning products.
• Posting and providing information aimed at passengers at all points of entry into the country in airports in the ANA network;
• Creation and/or adaptation of Containment Areas for use in the event of necessity;
• Preparation of Response Plans for Threats to Public Health, in line with the guidelines from the WHO and the DGS and validated by the DGS;
• Communication and disclosure of the Plan to the other stakeholders operating in the airports;
• ANA is constantly monitoring the staff whose duties bring them into closer contact with third parties;
• A decision was made to promote teleworking and this has been implemented, duty permitting.

ANA continues to constantly monitor developments in the situation, in close connection with the Health Authorities and the National Civil Aviation Authority.

ANA is totally committed to contributing to the national effort to mitigate the risks in order to better combat this pandemic.
